bits and peices..

just and update on the refit, head liner and glass in after a few late nights and tyres on. shes off the stands and is on the ground for good, happy to see everything coming together again with not to many problems. waiting on some rear quarter glass rubber and new door rubbers to arrive so all that trim work just sitting. respray all the door rubber channels satin black and have polished the stainless steel trim as good as i can, not stuff you can get off the shelf. just have to polish up the doors but need a new wool pad as it has deteriorated and started  scratching..not good!

trying out some new style head lights, had to modify a bit to work..

replaced all the black trim with new ..

would like to adjust the stance, shes a little high but its original..

just a scrub for the interior, still in great condition..not original but still to good to replace.

my sore arm..

after a week of sanding and polishing the little alfa is starting to take shape, i mean alot of sanding! wet sanded with 1200, 1500 and a little 2000 grit paper and polished out with a wool pad and i am very satisfied with the results. a few problems here and there but nothing that cant be retouched later i just want to get the bulk of it done. still need to spray one last door as i had to re prime it and block again, hopefully this weekend i will spray it and let it sit for a few days. started putting things back on now cant help my self..new badges and some turn lights last night also blacked out the wheel arches and detailed the under side and boot. wheels came out great thanks to the media blaster, so cheap just isn't worth the trouble sand your self. finished them of with a silver enamel but they are taking along time to cure so i haven't taken them in for tyres..also budget is shot so maybe next week or the next.
head liner is a night mare in this car as it comes in two parts, still working out my plan of attack for that. as soon as the liner goes in i can put the rear and front glass in with new rubbers and she should just start to fall into place..already talked to my mechanic so as soon as she is rolling and finished shes off to him for a service and check up. really looking forward to driving the little alfa up in the local hills, have watch so may YouTube videos that it driving me crazy..
                                                                  thanks for watching

i see red..i see red..i see red!!

yes finally did the deed and got the paint on...what a job, 7 coats later and we have an alfa gtv reborn..not to many problems , couple of runs and abit of orange peel[to be expected]. really happy with the out come, picked a low temp day and it rained the day before so there was minimal air borne dust..detailed out the boot  and underbody coated the wheel arches tonight also wet sanded corner of the boot tonight with 1500 and polished up beautiful..will give it a week or so to cure before hittting with wet sand..
just some pics for you guys..thanks for watching..

i took my wheels down to my local tyre guy mat and he removed all the tyres then drop them of at the soda blaster to remove all the crusty paint, just to hard to sand by hand..pick them up on friday and painting on the weekend. new tyres waiting!

getting close..

Well guys i am getting close, sprayed a couple of panels to test out the color this week and was very happy with the results. red is a great color to spray really covers well as to the Wimbledon white on the previous project. i was really happy to see no sanding scratches coming threw the red so all my hard work wet sanding has paid off.
still not sure if i want to add a clear coat on top, any thoughts out there? the red on its own dose polish up but the clear makes it pop...
hopefully this week i can post some pics of a red alfa gtv!

had a touch of orange peel effect but will polish out okay, tested a corner..

just finished masking her up again, another job down..

nice combi resto out the front of work last week..
